Keith Lodge Royal Arch Chapter No. 44, meeting in Peterhead, forms an important part of the wider Royal Arch presence within Aberdeenshire, working under the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland.
The origins of the Chapter can be traced back to the early 19th century, with records from 1814 showing the formation of a Royal Arch body connected to Keith Lodge. Established to support members and advance Masonic knowledge, this early foundation would go on to develop into what is now Keith Lodge Royal Arch Chapter No. 44.
Around 1820, the Chapter received its Charter from the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland, formally establishing its place within Scottish Royal Arch Masonry. Since then, it has continued to meet in Peterhead as part of the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Aberdeenshire, remaining an active and respected Chapter within the Province.
The Royal Arch is regarded in Scotland as a natural continuation of the Craft degrees, offering Master Masons the opportunity to complete their journey by exploring deeper themes of discovery, understanding, and enlightenment.
