Robert Burns and Freemasonry
Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, was not only a celebrated writer but also a committed Freemason. Initiated in 1781, Burns remained actively involved in Freemasonry throughout his life, often drawing inspiration from its values of brotherhood, equality, and moral integrity.
His association with the Craft is well documented, and many of his works reflect the spirit of fellowship and shared humanity that Freemasonry upholds.
Our Burns Supper
Held annually in January, the Masonic Burns Supper is a well-established and much-anticipated event within the Temple calendar.

The event follows the traditional format of a Burns Supper, with the customary toasts, speeches, and fellowship, all delivered in a warm and respectful atmosphere.
This remains a traditional men-only Burns Supper, in keeping with long-standing custom.
