Peterhead Masonic Temple

The Building

Peterhead Masonic Temple is one of the largest and most impressive Masonic buildings in the North East of Scotland, serving as a centre for Freemasonry and the wider community.

Originally purchased and converted around 1920, the building has been carefully developed over the years into the well-equipped and versatile space it is today. Spanning multiple levels — from basement to attic — it supports a wide range of Masonic meetings, social activities, and community events.

More than just a place of meeting, the Temple is a hub of tradition, fellowship, and continuity, bringing together Craft Lodges, companion Orders, and the Masonic Social Club under one roof. Jointly owned by Keith Lodge of Peterhead No.56 and Lodge St. James No.256, it continues to play a central role in the life of Freemasonry in Peterhead.

From formal ceremonies to social gatherings, the building reflects both the heritage of the past and the active, vibrant role it plays in the present day — a place where tradition is preserved, and community continues to thrive.
