Keith Lodge Cryptic Council No. 44
Keith Lodge Cryptic Council No. 44, meeting in Peterhead, forms an important part of the companion degrees within Freemasonry, offering members the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the teachings introduced within the Craft and Royal Arch.
Often referred to as the Cryptic Degrees, this order explores themes of preservation, secrecy, and completion, expanding upon the story of the Temple and the safeguarding of its most important treasures. Rich in symbolism and meaning, the degrees provide a thoughtful and engaging continuation of the Masonic journey.
The origins of the Cryptic Degrees can be traced back to the 18th century, developing alongside other companion orders as Freemasonry evolved. Today, they remain a respected and valued part of the wider Masonic structure in Scotland.
