The Temple

Freemasonry has existed in Peterhead since at least 1736, the oldest written record contained within the Keith Lodge of Peterhead No.56′ archives. Freemasonry has always played a big part in the town’s history, development and social circles with it’s traditions passed down throughout the generations.

The Temple in Broad Street is jointly owned by the Keith Lodge of Peterhead No.56 & Lodge St. James No.256, It is one of the largest and finest Masonic Buildings in the North East of Scotland and perhaps one of the finest in Scotland. The interior of the temple spans 5 floors, with numerous Tenants making use of the building and the superb facilities contained within.
